THE BASICS

COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019)

  • Caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus 

  • Can be very contagious and spreads quickly

  • Most often causes respiratory symptoms that can feel like a cold, the flu, or pneumonia. 

  • Most people with COVID-19 have mild symptoms, but some people become severely ill.

CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older gets an updated 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine

Influenza (flu)

  • Caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs 

  • Anyone can get flu but  people 65 years and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions , pregnant people, and children younger than 5 years are at higher risk of developing serious flu-related complications if they get sick.

6 months and older get a flu shot each year

Respiratory Syncitial Virus (RSV)

  • Usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. 

  • Most people recover in a week or two.

  • Can cause serious illness sometimes requiring hospitalization especially in infants and older adults.

CDC recommends RSV vaccines for:

No appointment necessary
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
All vaccinations are administered by experienced, licensed doctors and nurses
Please bring completed consent forms for each person being vaccinated

* We can vaccinate any child  <19 years regardless of insurance.

* We are unable to accept United Health Care for adults (19+) at this time.

As required by law, we will report your immunization information with theState of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH). DPH will store your information in CT WiZ. ​
