Winter Driving 

Winter can mean snowstorms and icy conditions
that can make driving dangerous.

Prepare Your Car 

  • Test your battery

  • Check tire pressure 

  • Keep your gas tank half full 

Make a Car Emergency Kit  

  • ​Some things to include

  • Spare tire  

  • Jumper cables 

  • Flashlight 

  • Snow brush

  • Warm clothing and blankets 

  • Cat litter for traction 

Avoid a Crash 

  • Accelerate and decelerate slowly

  • In icy and snowy conditons

    • Don't use cruise control

    • Increase following distance 

  • Steer in the direction of a skid 

Generator Safety

Portable generators are useful during power outages
but if not used correctly they can cause injury and death.
